You may already be aware, but the United States is among the largest nations in the world. It is second in size to Russia and Canada. China is larger if you don’t count the outlying territories here in the U.S.

When you have a territory of this stature, you can bet that the weather events for every region are going to be different and bring about different weather threats.

With the spring season nearing, the warm and cold air will collide all around the nation and cause distinct weather events, which is why we need to keep in mind the weather events that we are likely to see here in San Antonio.   The Pacific Northwest is bounded by coastal waters and likely to experience heavy rain over the spring months. This can cause issues like flooding or other water damage. With it being in the northern region, they are likely to be dealing with snow as well, which causes problems of its own.

The Upper Midwest and Northeast regions will continue having the typical winter weather—things like snow or blizzards will still be in full effect. These states are likely going to deal with cold weather until early summer when the temperatures start to warm up.   Directly opposite of the Northeast regions, the southern West Coast has to be on the lookout for excessive heat waves. These can endanger many lives.

The middle of the country, from Iowa to Texas, isn’t in the clear! These areas must watch out for windstorms, derechos and the large risk of wildfires. Not to mention the infamous Tornado Alley lies in this region as well.

Then you have the Southeast, which experiences a wide range of severe types of weather. There are events like tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, rip currents or early-season hurricanes.

As you can see, where you live doesn’t matter, extreme weather events leave no one out! Your weather might look a lot different than someone who lives in another state, but that’s why it’s important to always stay prepared.

If extreme weather leaves you with damage from water, fire, or other elements, help is a click away. Contact SERVPRO for fast, expert recovery.
